FIFA Blocks Cousin Deal

Fifa have now blocked the move of striker Daniel Cousin to Fulham from the Rangers which will mean that the striker remains at the Rangers football club.Rangers chief executive Martin Bain said that he was extremely disappointed by the decision of FIFA and insisted that this was a move which satisfied all the three parties.The rules of FIFA prevents a player from playing for three clubs in a season and he has already played for Lens and Rangers this season.Cousin played for the Lens in the early part of the season and signed up for the Rangers for a fee of around 1 million pounds.

DANIEL COUSIN DECISION DELAYED BY FIFA

FIFA will not make a decision on Daniel Cousin's move to Fulham until next week - meaning the striker is free to play in Rangers' UEFA Cup tie against Panathinaikos on Wednesday night.

Both clubs believed the transfer saga was finally set to come to an end, with a ruling from world football's governing body originally expected on Wednesday.

The £3million switch has been on hold since a deal was struck on 22 January because Cousin, 31, has also featured for French club Lens this term and FIFA regulations forbid a player from playing for more than two clubs in one season.

However, all parties will have to wait until next week to learn whether special dispensation will be granted for the transfer to be completed.

FULHAM DEFEAT VILLA

Fulham have defeated Aston Villa 2-1 in the Barclays Premier League game held yesterday.Jimmy Bullard scored a late winner to give the relegation threatened side a 2-1 victory at the Craven cottage.

Jan Koller's next destination is the heated debate which is going on now.Jan Koller's agent has insisted the Monaco striker's proposed move to Nurnberg is not dead, despite disagreement between the two clubs over the price.

There is reportedly a two-and-a-half-year contract waiting for the 34-year-old at Nurnberg, though the club have been unimpressed with Monaco's valuation - believed to be in the region of two million euros.
