MANICHE ALL SET TO BECOME AN INTER STAR

Nuno Maniche is very close to finalising a deal with Inter milan.The portugese midfielder apparently is in the final stage of a negotiation process.Internazionale president Massimo Moratti is confident Atletico Madrid midfielder Maniche will sign for the Serie A leaders in the next few days.

The Portugal international's agent and a director from the Spanish club flew to Milan early Friday for talks with the Nerazzurri and Moratti later confirmed that the 30-year-old is close to becoming an Inter player.

"We are sorting out the final details," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I can say that the Maniche transfer saga is practically closed."

Reports in Spain on Wednesday suggested the two clubs had reached an agreement for a loan deal until the end of the season, with Inter then having the option to buy the former Chelsea player for six million euros.

But Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo said on Thursday that no deal had been struck with any club.
