CAPELLO HAS THE CHARM AND ABILITY

Fabio Capello it seems is the right man for the erratic England and he has the charm and the ability.

New England manager Fabio Capello has the aura to get the current crop of internationals back on top of their game, according to Sir Trevor Brooking.

The Football Association's director of football development is backing the Italian to "rekindle the fire" within the national team.

"The players will respond to Fabio. He has the aura. He will ask a lot of searching questions of players. He knows how to create a tough team." Brooking told the Daily Telegraph.

He added: "Fabio really is mystified why they have not performed at the level they should, Fabio is very much one for getting inside the individual. He will judge them on how they respond to his ways."

"You don't do what he has done [in winning nine titles] without having to make strong decisions. The England players are desperate to achieve things.

"Their fire is strong but it needs to be rekindled to get the best out of them.

"It needs the expertise of someone like Fabio to bring the confidence, structure and blend."

The paper also reports England are expected to organise an extended get-together at Arsenal's London Colney training ground at the end of the season for Capello to spend time with the squad, with the option of two games - including the proposed Wembley friendly against Scotland on May 28.
