Henin through to the third round

In her first appearance on clay this season, world number one Justine Henin staged a thumping six-love, six-two win over Taipei's Chan Yung-Jan in the WTA German Open in Berlin. She will now face Dinara Safina of Russia in the third round. Defending champion Ana Ivanovic and top seeds Svetlana Kuznetzova and Jelena Jankovic also made it through to the third round, comfortably winning their second round ties in straight sets.
